What is RTK in PIX4Dcatch?

RTK, or Real-Time Kinematic, is a GPS correction technology technique that enhances the precision of position data derived from satellite-based positioning systems. Integrated with PIX4Dcatch, RTK enables users to capture geotagged images with centimeter-level accuracy in real-time by connecting to any NTRIP service. This functionality is crucial for accurate 3D photogrammetric scanning.

How much more accurate is RTK GNSS when compared to my phone’s integrated GPS?

RTK delivers precision down to the centimeter, vastly outperforming the typical 5-meter accuracy of standard smartphone GPS.

How can I purchase an RTK GNSS device?

The Emlid Reach RX scanning kit and the RTK GNSS rover are available through a selection of authorized Pix4D resellers or by directly contacting the Pix4D sales team. Availability may vary by region.

How does it work?

Attach the RTK device to your phone. Next open PIX4Dcatch and login to your Pix4D user account. Then, connect to your NTRIP service. Once connected, find an open area and you should be ready to go.
